About This Dataset

Countries with the Biggest Current Account Surplus 2025
Countries ranked by current account balance (% of GDP) in 2025, using World Bank figures for the 97 countries that reported that year. Kuwait leads on 22.70, ahead of Brunei (18.01) and Tajikistan (17.10). The current account balance, the difference between what a country earns from and pays to the rest of the world, as a share of GDP. A large surplus can mean strong exports or weak domestic demand; the measure does not distinguish them.
