Rates well above 100% do not mean more children attend than exist; they reflect adult learners, vocational students and pupils repeating or extending years being counted against a narrower age band. Northern Europe dominates, supplying Belgium, Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark. The most striking entries are the small island states: St Kitts and Nevis on 137.5%, Vanuatu on 134.7% and St Vincent and the Grenadines on 125.4% all outrank most of Europe, a reminder that this measure captures enrollment breadth rather than education quality or wealth. Costa Rica at 125.5% is the sole Latin American entry.
