Copa Sudamericana Titles by Country
This chart ranks countries by titles won in the Copa Sudamericana, South America's second-tier club competition founded in 2002. It is the continental equivalent of the UEFA Europa League.
About This Dataset
Copa Sudamericana Titles by CountryArgentina lead with 11 titles, more than double second-placed Brazil on five, an unusual reversal given that Brazil match Argentina exactly in the more prestigious Copa Libertadores. Ecuador's four are the standout achievement, driven by LDU Quito and Independiente del Valle, and represent a far stronger showing than Ecuador manage in the Libertadores where they have just one. The competition has been notably open, with Colombia, Mexico, Chile and Peru each taking a single title. Mexico's presence is a quirk of history, as Mexican clubs were invited to compete in South American tournaments for a period despite belonging to CONCACAF. Bolivia have reached a final but never won.
