Portuguese Primeira Liga Titles by Club
This chart ranks Portuguese clubs by top-flight league titles won across the history of the national championship. Only clubs that have won at least one title are included.
About This Dataset
Portuguese Primeira Liga Titles by ClubBenfica lead with 38 titles, ahead of Porto on 31 and Sporting CP on 21, and these three clubs have won 90 of Portugal's championships. The concentration is the most extreme in European football: only five clubs have ever won the Portuguese league, and outside the big three just two have managed it at all, with Belenenses and Boavista holding one title each. Boavista's single title in 2001 stands as the only time in over half a century that the big three were broken. Geography reinforces this, as Benfica, Sporting and Belenenses are all Lisbon clubs while Porto and Boavista are both from Porto, meaning only two cities have ever produced a Portuguese champion.
