Most-Followed X (Twitter) AccountsElon Musk leads by an extraordinary margin at 240.8 million followers, roughly double second-placed Barack Obama on 119.2 million and more than the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth accounts combined. Wikipedia notes his lead partly followed changes to the platform's code that promoted his own posts more favourably, so the gap reflects platform mechanics as well as popularity. Below Musk the field is tightly packed: Obama, Donald Trump and Cristiano Ronaldo sit within eight million of each other, and ranks two through ten span only 38.5 million.
