The Best-Selling Manga of All Time, 2013-2026

Each year is the ranking exactly as Wikipedia's List of best-selling manga stood at that year's end, read from the article's own edit history — fourteen year-end snapshots from 2013 to 2026. The figure is copies in circulation across all collected volumes, in millions, as reported by the publishers. Two series are left out because the article prints two irreconcilable numbers for them across revisions: Black Jack (45 million in some years, 176 million in others) and Pokémon Adventures (150 million, later corrected down to 30 million). Publisher estimates are restated from time to time, so a few totals move down as well as up between year-ends.

About this chart race

One Piece is number one at every one of the fourteen year-ends and is never threatened: 345 million copies in 2013, 600 million in 2026, exactly twice the total of anything else in the chart. The movement is all behind it. Second place changes hands five times, every one of them between Dragon Ball and Golgo 13, and by 2026 Doraemon has drawn level with Golgo 13 on 300 million after tripling from 100 million. The fastest riser is Demon Slayer, which is not in the chart at all before 2019: it enters at 25 million, is on 120 million a year later and reaches 220 million and seventh place by 2026. Jujutsu Kaisen repeats the trick later, entering in 2021 on 60 million and reaching 150 million. Attack on Titan multiplies by five, 28 million to 140 million. At the other end sit the finished series: KochiKame has been stuck around 157 million all race, and Astro Boy, Touch and Fist of the North Star have not moved off 100 million in fourteen years while newer titles climb past them. The top ten was worth 1.65 billion copies in 2013 and 2.69 billion in 2026.

This animated ranking shows how copies in circulation changed across 17 series between 2013 and 2026. The bars re-order themselves as the years advance, so overtakes are visible as they happen rather than hidden inside a table. Use the list on the left to choose exactly who competes, drag the slider to jump to any year, or open the table view to read the underlying numbers.

As of 2026, One Piece leads with 600.
