About This Dataset

Container throughput handled by each country's ports, measured in millions of twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), at five benchmark years between 2010 and 2023. Figures cover all container port activity in the country rather than a single port. Twelve of the world's largest container-handling nations are shown.

Hong Kong is the only territory in this group that shrank, falling 40% from 23.7 to 14.3 million TEU and dropping from fourth place in 2010 to eleventh in 2023.
