About This Dataset
Countries with the Highest Share of High-Technology ExportsHong Kong leads with 72.3% of its manufactured exports classed as high-technology, ahead of the Philippines on 64% and Malaysia on 59.4%. Southeast Asia dominates this ranking, supplying four of the top ten through the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam, a direct result of the region's role in global electronics and semiconductor assembly. The measure rewards specialisation rather than size, which is why manufacturing giants like China and Germany are absent despite exporting far more high-tech goods in absolute value. Ireland's 47.8% reflects its pharmaceutical sector, while the Cayman Islands' 47.7% is a quirk of a tiny manufacturing base. Israel completes the list at 34.9%.
